Show Freshman Basketball At times it was rewarding, at times frustrating,-but, Papoose basketball 1966-67 was almost always exciting and promising. Despite a so-so 5-8 record, some noteworthy prospects emerged for future varsity play. The most prominent of these were John Hunter, Bob Martin, and Bill Parsons. Martin was the leading scorer with a 15 point per grame average in 13 games. Hunter was second with 14.5 points. Parsons, also an outstanding scorer, led the Papooses in rebounding with 105 caroms for an 8.1 average. The highlight of the year was the Papooses' 75-70 victory over the BYU Kittens. The Utah frosh found themselves after this game and went on to win their last three games of the season. Jim Fox scores on a jump shot against BYU Kittens.
