Show Freshman Football The freshman football team, coached by Pres Summerhays, imitated the varsity this year by splitting their season down the middle with wins against Utah State and Weber, while dropping two games to BYLJ. The Papooses opened play in Provo with a 14-0 loss and came back smarting to whip Weber 49-13 in Og-den. Then, playing for the first time on their own home turf, they outlasted a tough Utah State team to pull out a 26-21 squeaker. In their last contest of the year at Salt Lake the freshmen went down to defeat once again as BYU's Kittens romped to a high-scoring 40-22 victory. Likely to see varsity action next year are linemen Mike Bailey, Bob Merrill and Jack Miller, tight end Jim Rees and backs Ray Groth, Dave Smith, Larry Stone, Randy Hen-sen and Jack Jensen. ; Pres Summerhays Freshman Coach iilliiiililllffflli} llfiflll iiiiiiiiiifiiififlS Members of the freshman football team were (front row) T.
