Randall Dean of the College of Business The degree to which the intellectual fabric of a university is variegated and valuable depends on the quality and diversity of the colleges from which it is woven. Each college contributes something integral to the atmosphere of the whole and exerts its unique influence over each student on the campus. The thirteen colleges comprising the University of Utah are concerned with both their own individual progress and their relationships to the rest of the community. Striving to advance the quality of instruction they provide, they combine in a spirit of growth and cooperation to make the University an attractive climate in which to learn. B usmess With the completion of the Business Building and lecture hall this summer, the College of Business can now use its greatest potential for training in management and administration. Among the fields of instruction available for students are accounting, economics, marketing, salesmanship and business administration. The goal of the college, according to the dean, is to train people and enable them to fill good managerial positions. In a field as volatile as business, continual adjustment and advancement is essential, and the College of Business has fostered this capacity for progress in its students. 38 |
