Show 1! "I'll take Palmzies home," Big Pimpin said, and rattled a glass of ice in her hand. "Are you sure?" Amy asked. Big Pimpin said, "Sure. No problem." I said, "...Thanks." Amy and Heidi were gone. I was worried about being abandoned with Big Pimpin when she said, "Come on, I'll show you something." "Oh I don't know-should we really leave this table?" "Come on, it'll be fine. You'll want to see this." "Does it involve pimping of any size?" She laughed all over the table and slapped my back again. "Come on." I followed her shoulders as she made high fives with some of the girls we moved through. She brought me to a dim comer that we had to squeeze between two tables to access. "Check it out," she said. There was a cardboard stand-up of Buffy in black pants and a blue T-shirt. I noticed that someone had drawn a mustache on her face. Big Pimpin laughed, and then left me with the Buffy cutout while she started talking to a nearby table. I was certain that she was too drank to drive. I visualized walking the 39 blocks through creepy Arby's parking lots and those car dealerships that play music all night to get home. And then I sort of started to feel emotional right in front of Big Pimpin. |
