Cut: The Baroness von Gunther is in the last stages of an elaborate plan to escape from the American prison. She has been telling soldiers that she has converted to democratic ideals, while at night using a complicated system involving ancient Austrian keys and Nazi spies on the inside to sneak out and conduct nefarious meetings, wearing a red cloak. Her suspicious activity is first noticed by the warden's son, Joey, a blonde and profoundly irritating boy who reads Arthur Conan Doyle, is obsessed with mystery, and carries a magnifying glass with him wherever he goes. He is for good reason pushed aside by his father while he tries to elaborate on one of his theories regarding the Baronness, but Wonder Woman befriends and listens to him. Ultimately Joey discovers von Gunther's secret passageway and Wonder Woman follows her, only to be willfully captured when she realizes Steve has been captured and is as usual unconscious and threatened. Wonder Woman is then bound in chains-"another brilliant invention of The Third Reich, so strong not even elephants can break them." The plan is to bring Wonder Woman to Germany so they can exploit her abilities. However, Wonder Woman is merely waiting for Steve to regain consciousness to make her move.
