Show Assisting Coach Gardner and scouting is the bulk of the assistant coach s job. Utah's mentors are Morris Buckwalter, a former All Conference Utah star and Jerry Pimm, a graduate of Southern California who serves as the freshmen team coach as well as helping coach varsity. Assisting Coach Pimm is Felix Patterson, also a graduate of Southern Cal. Each of the assistant coaches was a star himself and each uses his skill in producing stars on the Runnin Redskin teams. Jack Gardner started his second decade as head coach of the Runnin' Redskins. In the ten years of league play, the Utes under Gardner, have won six league titles, placed second twice, and third once. Gardners' Redskins have won 107 and lost only 29 games in Conference play with 202 wins and 74 losses in overall competition. Under Coach Gardner s reign, Utah has won all three of the country's major hoop titles p- the NCAA, NIT, AAU, the Ute's being the only team to ever achieve this. Jack Gardner is certainly an asset to Ute athletics. 228 ii |
