Wins over New Mexico, 19-6, and BYU, 15-6, gave the Redskins an eye for a conference title, but hopes were shattered when the Ute eleven lost heartbreakers to Wyoming, 26-25, and Arizona State, 50-22. During general season play, Colorado State and Utah State were added to the list of victories for the Redskins with scores of 48-14 and 25-25.
