Show Symprionic Chorale The University Symphonic Chorale was organized in 1962 for the purpose of providing an organization to perform major choral works with the Utah Symphony Orchestra. Under the direction of Newell B. Weight, the chorale highlighted its year's activities with presentations with the Utah Symphony of Gustav Mahler's Eighth Symphony and the Saint Matthew Passion by Bach. The Chorale's season closed with participation in the spring concert of contemporary music. Serving as officers of tke Symphonic Chorale were Susan Combs, Mike Mannos and Catherine Clayton.
