Show i h^jfcu,*. ; s»: LeRoy Eugene Cowles Lyman Luther Daines CROFESSOR COWLES, head of the Department of Educational Administration, has made a special study of the educational system and educational administration of Utah, the results of his research being written up in "Organization and Administration of Education in Utah," published in 1926, and two as yet unpublished works, "Secondary Education In Utah," and an "Educational Survey of Utah," "The Utah Educational Review," a weekly magazine devoted to the interests of educational methods in Utah and to the problems of the Utah teacher, was at one time edited by Professor Cowles, who is now a regular contributor. COMPARATIVE Development of the Cystocarts of Antithamniouwand," published in 1912, is the chief work of Professor Daines, head of the Department of Bacteriology. Professor Daines has also contributed a number of articles to the "Journal of Phytopathology," and botanical articles to the "American Naturalist." At the present time he has six extensive articles accepted for publication or in the last stages of preparation. Dr. Daines was formerly a member of the faculty of the University of California. For a while he left his educational work to become State Bacteriologist, and also acted as pathologist in several hospitals. CROFESSOR BONNER, head of the Department of Chemistry, has a long record of chemical work behind him, having been in charge of the Chemical Laboratory of the Agricultural Experiment Station at Lincoln, Nebraska, consulting chemist of the United States Bureau of Mines, and Junior Chemist of the United States Bureau of Mines at Berkeley, California. In addition to these government positions Dr. Bonner has filled the position of chemist to several Oil and Refining and Dying Companies. A number of articles by Dr. Bonner have appeared in the "American Chemical Journal," and other magazines. COMING to Utah from Harvard University, where he was Curator of Zoology, Professor Chamberlin, now head of the Department of Zoology, first served as Dean of the School of Medicine. Professor Chamberlin has headed scientific expeditions to all parts of the United States, Canada, and Mexico, publishing the results of his research in some 150 magazine articles and the following books: "Myriopoda of the Belgian Congo," "Myrio-poda of the Field Columbian Museum Expedition to Central America," "North American Spiders of the Family Gnapposidae," and "Spiders of the Hawaiian Islands." 16, Walter Daniel Bonner fefej #P^ Ralph Vary Chamberlin |
