| Show The one fun thing he loved Santa Claus on Christmas Eve He all year He didndo it for money private thing for him and his family to keep his outingsecret doing most of all was being looked forward to this outing or anyoneacclaim It wasand friends and he was careful His wife Erma and her friend Carole Hoover sewed himwonderful costume complete with boots wig beard hat andbelt with bells Beingsmall man he mademost authentic Santa when the pillow was secured under his belt Somehow he did destroy more than one costume on his rounds Erma kindly repaired or sewednew costume for him Erma never saw the childrenexcitement when Santa visited them she waited at home She was truly Santahelper--Mrs Santa Claus On that night Donfriends or his brothers drove for him and waited in the car at the houses Doors were left unlocked for Santa to come and did Afterknock he walked into the house jingling his right into the childbedroom If the house was dark all he knew where their bedrooms were He loved children come he bells the betterand on this night their eyes shone with love for him He began his rounds at the appropriate hour around midnight This was magic time for sleeping kids but not so for the parents Most of the time the parents had just got into bed when they heard the bells and of course the kids were up playing with their toys One year Sharon Dyches gotred wagon and Beverly got atrike After Santa left they went around and around the house for hours Finally their Mom and Dad gave up at00 am and went back to bed One year my folks gotcall fromfrustrated parent |
