Show PRICE Jean Flom A very successful year Golden was started with the Anniversary Proclamation July 16, 1969, Mathis of signing of the when Mayor Murray Price and Chris Jouflas of Helper joined Business and Professional Women Presidents Jean Flom and Joy Milano, affixed their ignatures on the proclamation. . In August BPW Club mmbers and their husbands gathered at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Flom, for a patio supper. The members brought food which was in abundance. The tables were p Lac ed unde r the patio. The weather cooperated beautifully by bringing tropical rains that blended with the soft lights and Hawaiian music adding to the friendly festive mood that contributed to a very enjoyable evening. Our first official meeting was September 11, at the Carbon The State officers were present bringing their mes sage from the National Convention in St. Louis. Maxine Natches Country'Club. State girl of the year was present, accompanied by her mother. paid to four 25 year members and a short resume of their c14b activities. Each one was presented with Nike awards by President Jean Flom. Carbon County·s Representative Mike Dmitrich, enlightened us upon some of the bills passed by the 1969 legislature. October 19, through the State 25th as National Business and Professional Women's week our club honord one of their most active members, Mrs. Arleen Doss. The club presented her with a BPW chain necklace. November 13, our meeting was "Civic Participation".. LeRoy Brown Emery Bank was guest speaker. The a11.nual "Doll Project" got underway and our Lady Alexander Doll and its fabulous of the Carbon wardrobe display for all the members to see. Highlighting Christmas party held December 9, at the Carbon Country Club. Following a delicious dinner gifts were exchanged and each one howed what they had received. The remainde of the the was season on was our evening was spent visiting and with good wishes for a Happy Holiday Our doll project was a huge success and December 19, was the date of the drawing for the doll. Mrs. Gaylene Adams was the lucky winner, but had problems as she had two daughters, both fell in love wi th the do 11 on sight. Season to everyone., January 13, a very interesting program was presented, with Sally Merryboy, a Price school teacher as guest speaker. She spoke about the Navajo Culture and their situations. The remainder of the meeting was devoted to membership. January 22, "The Golden Age" of Crbon County was the theme for the Chamber of Commerce in stallation banquet. Our Business and Professional Women's Club was Mrs. presented a Community Service Award. 41 |
