We began our club yccr with Steak House wh ich overlooks Pangu itch Lake. Before our opening social, we joined tho Cedar City Club in an evening at the Shakespearian II Festival where we enjoyed seeing "Romeo end Juliot. . Our opening social was held in tho picturesque setting of Ceder Breaks lodge whem we enjoyed a lovely dinner as the sun slowly scnk unto the many colors of one of our scenic wonders, Cedar Breaks. Two new members joined our ranks this evening. iV\usical numbers were Plans were modo for our momborhip drive. Eligible women furnished by tho staff at the lodpo wore listed; sixty-three names were divided among the members to be contacted before the noxt , meeting. In September a we ll-Informod pane I discussed tho pros and cons of the tox bills facing the voters, an d a film on the use of drugs and its harmful effects on youth was shown. October provided us tho rare 'experience of being hostesses to tho Utah State Symphony. Cn October 31 in the Panguitch HiSll School auditorium our club gave a tea for the members of the Symphony before tho concert which was held for all schools in Pluto and Garfield Counties plus the Orderville High School. Our regular meeting was developed around the theme ItL'\cot Your Candidates" which we did. Tho}' presented their pions for solving problems in our surrounding cro c , Dr. Gwon Clark from CSU came to our November meeting hold in Hatch where she spoke world affairs--stressing in particular her experiences in Africa where she worked on her Ph .D. During this month, too, the Fall Conference of the Southern District of Business and Professional Women's Clubs was held in Panguitch, November 9th. 1\11 clubs in the District including Coder City, Beaver, i\\ilford, Zion, and Panguitch were eepresented The State Officers were present. This meeting was a source of satisfaction to all who helped in an}' wa}'. A successful food sale was he ld by our finance committee wn ich raised sufficient funds to defray the expenses for this on , year.
