The presentation was made at a meeting of the Contact of The Hague's Women's Organisations as Miss van der Ent re tired from the presidency after serving for 15 years. In making the presenta-· tion the Alderman for Social Affairs commended her for her many years of service to women's organisations and especially for her perseverance in bring ing to a successful conclusion the build ing of the large Reigersbergen flat. First elected as treasurer of The Hague BPW club in 1948, then president in 1949, Miss van der Ent somehow also found the time to serve BPW nationally and internationally in many capacities. She was associated with the National Council of Women as well at national and international levels. She is presently on the board of some nine organisations in The Hague and is chair man of the Housing committee of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women of the Netherlands. She is a sister of Miss M. Th. C. van der Ent, first Vice-President International Federation, who of the was in advertently mentioned as chairman of the Housing committee in the N ovem issue ber-December WIDENING of HORIZONS. Miss van der Ent was asked to address meetings on the ing societies and contractors became in terested. Then in 1959 the municipality advised Miss van der Ent that a plot of land, in a new district of The Hague would be made available on long lease contract, with a provisio that the proposed apart ment building should consist of seven floors and construction started within two years. The foundation stone bergen Apartment Building for was 1963 and within two years the Reigers laid in building was ready. The official opening was postponed until April 1966 allowing time to complete financial arrangements with the authorities at which time Miss del' Ent and the other board mem bers retired and the tenant-owners chose their own board.
