" ' (White Rabbit to the King of Hearts) Well, here I a~ at the beginning of my term. The beginning, Annual Meeting, has taken pl, ce. The end seer.1s a long way away. But, as I begin this long journey, I am pleased to find that I have been provi ded with the~ best equipme~t for compl eting it: a marvelous Board, an excit ing Progr am, a~d one or two chanen_gcs to keep us all on our toes. ·. ,. ,' The Board this yetr is made up of a good combinatio n of experienced and new members. The majo rity. of U:~m work outside the home y even get paid !-and the varie ty of inter ests [,nd backg rounds is impressiv--man e. looking forward to working with this wonderful group of wome l am reall y n! The local Program adopted at Annual Mee~ing was purposely limit ed to two studies to avoid burdening our finances and woma n-pow er. But what timel y and excitin~ studi es they are! One will be a ._ o f capit al improvement needs and financing withi n Salt Lake County, the study other will be a study of academic standards__ in 1oca 1 secoridary education. .
