Show docent dialogue ( M/\RCH 1984 MARCH 8 DOCENT MEETING, 12:30 p.m. (Steering Committee, 12:15 p.m. PROGRAM: SHEILA MULLER, ART HISTORY DEPARTMENT, WILL DISCUSS PAINTINGS IN OUR FLEMISH GALLERY, GIVING BACKGROUND ON NORTHERN EUROPEAN PAINTING. 3:00 MOVIE ON VAN EYCK, FATHER OF FLEMISH PAINTING. CAMPBELLS' SOUP TUREEN EXHIBIT Opens April 1 (Sunday) with a II Souper Supper" in the ga 11 eri es. You won't want to miss being· there ... the New Yorker Oyster Bar, Applebutter Farms, Panache, the Dodo .... all are serving their specialties! You will receive an invitation through the mail·, cost is $12.50 per person, all proceeds to the Museum's Education ·programs. The tickets for the entrance to the Museum during the six-week period hold special promises for the stub-holders. All expense paid trip to Hawaii for two, for one week, precious soup tureens to be given away at the drawing of the ticket stubs. PLEASE HELP US TO SELL THESE $2.00 admission tickets by offering them to your friends, neighbors, and groups .... the exhibit is stunning, and the give-aways enticing! ~ "DRIL?????? No Docent meeting, due to heavy tour schedule, but the offer of a bus trip to Springville still holds .... unless 15 more docents and/or their friends reserve space, we cannot pay for the bus. Have you returned your interest questionnaire (the one with the tree on it)? MARCH 1st at 1:00 p.m. the Docent Class will hear a lecture by Ann Stewart on the Art of Primitive Cultures. Sue will be in Portland, Oregon, for a Smithsonian Institution workshop. Those of you who feel 11 wobbly 11 about our primitive gallery might try to · attend this talk. MUSEUM IN THE CLASSROOM RECOGNIZED AS EXEMPLARY MUSEUM PROGRAM! Our program of visiting classrooms and then bringing the classes to the Museum will receive recognition ·by the National Art Education Association, Museum Division, at the national conference in Miami, Florida, April 2nd. Sue will receive the ''Museum Educator of the Year, Pacific Regio.n" award for this program. The program has also been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts for 1984-85, to be expanded in the Salt Lake City School District. |
