We cannot depend upon teachers or parents to maintain discipline, YOU ARE IN CHARGE, and your first responsibility is to maintain order in the museum. DO NOT GIVE OUT THE METAL BUTTON/BADGES (in the drawer of the small table under the postcard rack in the office) UNTIL CHILDREN ARE OUT OF THE DOOR. Tell them "I have a gift for you when you are lined up at the door to leave." ********** WANT TO SPEND SOME TIME IN THE MUSEUM THIS SUMMER? If you would like a mini-project for the summer, Sue would like to have one or two volunteers to assist in preparing the Docent ·Resource File. This file will contain copies of all research papers, printed materials, and information ~out each work in the Museum. _Jch of the material is written, and only needs to be organized in folders. ' If you would like to sit in our airconditioned office and help with this project, please tell Sue. ~ Docents are always welcome to spend time in the Museum, at the desk answering questions for our many out-of-town visitors, studying, or using the office in the Education department for study and research. We do not expect docents to attend regularly in sununer, as we do not schedule many tours. \k ********* TOURS ON TAPE As a special educational resource for individual visitors to the Museum we plan to check out tape recorders with earphones, with a variety of tours to choose from. This will NOT replace guided tours 'for groups or qchoolchildren! It will offer the -ekend and summer visitors information on a self-guided basis. If any docent would like to assist in preparing these tours, please contact Sue. APRIL 1982 P. 2, No. 7 EMILY CHIPMAN RETIRES AS CHAIRMAN Emily Chipman, chairman of the Docent Council, 1980-82, has announced her retirement from this position. We have appreciated Emily's gracious leadership and advice during her term, and are happy that she will continue to serve the Docent Council as a volunteer.
