Show 1053 BENJAMIN D. HARS ABERGER For Complainant. ( R. Vol. 13, pp. 2500- 2521.) He resides at Valentine, Arizona, and at the present time operates a store and service station. He has conducted mining operations on the San Juan River first in December, 1892. At that time he was living at Needles, California. He entered the San Juan country by team from Winslow, Arizona, entering the San Juan River below the Box Canyon about forty miles below Bluff. He took his supplies with him from Winslow and followed a trail to the San Juan River that was near Nokai Canyon, the wagon being left on top of the bluff and the supplies packed down. There. were ten people in the party, including three teamsters. there were possibly twenty- five miners in the canyon when he got there. R. 2500- 2502. He stayed at the San Juan about two months. During that time the teams were sent back to Winslow for additional supplies. The other parties on the river were supplied by pack horses that came down from Bluff, Utah, coming in over another trail than the one he came in on. They came down on both the north and south sides of the river. R. 2502- 2503. During the time he was there he did not see any other miners receive supplies that came in boats by way of the river nor did he see any boats on the river at that particular time, but saw some row boats later when he returned to that country about 1903.
