Show 1039 return trip. R. 2469 " Q What do you mean, you only made the one trip? " A At the time we went from about Warm creek up to the party - We took up Mr. Loper in the boat that time; We only made the one trip with him - Mr. Trimble's party." R. 2469. He did not do any marking on the upper stretches on that trip. " Q Between what points did you follow this practice of marking bad places? " A From Lees Ferry up: We made many trips from Lees Ferry as far as Warm creek, hauling up supplies, gasoline, put them along the bank so when we made our succeeding trips we wouldn't be loaded with gasoline; sometimes took four or five barrels of gasoline up as a special trip, and put it on the bank." R. 2469. Warm Creek is very close to the Utah- Arizona line. He did not make any markings on the trip upstream with Mr. Loper because it was further up than he would have to go in his work, and therefore he was not going up there any more. He did not contemplate having to go above Warm Creek in connection with the work of operating the boats there. R. 2469- 2470. " Q The changes that you have referred to in your testimony in river bed and bars and all that sort of thing are changes that you observed below Warm creek? " A I had no chance to observe them above Warm creek, as I only made the one trip up. " Q I would assume that would be true. So it is a fact these changing conditions to which you referred are all down below the Utah- Arizona line? |
