Show 394 According to him, five wells, four deep wells and one shallow well, were drilled in the vicinity of Shafer No. 1 but he had nothing to do with actual drilling operations. The discovery well, located about fifteen miles from Road, was first known as the John Shafer No. 1 well but later changed to the Frank Shafer No. 1 well. The Prommel No. 1 well is located just a little south and east of the Frank Shafer No. 1 well. The John R. Shafer well was drilled on an anticline of about seven and one- half miles south of the Frank Shafer well. The John R. Shafer well is about a mile and a half northerly from the Frank Shafer well No. 1. The A. J. Hazelwood well is located at the mouth of Lockhart Caryon. The Prommel No. 1 well and the A. J. Hazelwood well are on the east side of the river; the Frank Shafer well No. 1, the John N. Shafer well, and the John R. Shafer well on the west side of the river. The Frank Shafted well No. 1 was drilled to a depth of about four thousand nine hundred seventy feet; the Prommel well No. 1 was drilled to a depth of about three thousand five hundred feet; the John R. Shafer well drilled to depth of about three thousand five hundred feet; the John R. Shafer well was drilled to a depth of about five thousand one hundred feet; the A. J.
