Sweazey, <br> Salt Lake City, Utah. <br><br> My dear Mr. Sweazey:- <br><br> The question raised, sometime ago, in regard to the possible sale of the Collegiate Property and erection of buildings on or near the Westminster College campus, action upon which was taken by the Board in December, 1903, has come up again. <br><br> Some letters have reached the office stating that there was a boom in real estate, and that possibly the property of the Collegiate Institute could be sold now at better prices than might be realized later on. <br><br> The action of the Board above referred to was to the effect that if the Westminster College trustees would give to the Board of Home Missions a title in fee simple to sufficient land upon which to erect a building, or buildings, for the use of the Collegiate Institute, the present property could be sold and such buildings erected, and the Collegiate Institute moved to that location. <br><br> It seems, now, that the requirement of Col. Ferry has not been complied with by the board of trustees of Westminster College; consequently they are not in position to give us a title or lease us any part of the property. <br><br> Letters received recently indicate that there is a possibility of the purchase of an acre and a half of land near, or adjoining, the Westminster College campus, and the suggestion is made that the Collegiate Institute property be sold, that property purchased, and buildings be erected thereon. <br> [Continues on next page.] <br><br> |
