Show EDWI 0 ' D" WI D R 22 2 ED: I didn t graduate from high ch l- ab ut br k m par nt h art. h n I went on my mission-do you remember Ann Pearson? BEC: Yeah. NED: She was always a good friend of mine and encouraged me to g t my high school graduation. But I started that but I was so-this was while I was on my mission, but I kind of gave it up. And I finally graduated, well, just a few years ago when Cyprus High chool honored me in their Hall of Fame. Pete Harman, Kentucky Fried Chicken founder and owner was honored at the same time, as was Norm Bangerter. But Pete had never graduated and I had never graduated and Mr. Christopulos, the principal out there, arranged for both of us officially, through the district, to get our graduation. BEC: Your diploma, really. NED: Isn't that embarrassing. But if this is going to be public record I'd better tell the truth, because people are always saying, "Which college did you go to?" And all that. My brother was a Sigma Chi and he had a lot of friends and they got us in a study group, all these Sigma Chi's that had gone on missions and were good friends, and I'm in that group. And we all give them the grip and so I'm known to some ignorant people in this valley as being a Sigma Chi. They've even lost money on that. Russ Ballard is in that group and a lot of good people in that study group. So my extracurriculars were hustling the girls in a semi-spiritual way. BEC: (laughs) NED: I've got to put that "semi" in. I didn't ever mind going up there in the old Pleasant Green Cemetery, which is neither pleasant nor green. You know? BEC: I've been there. NED: That was the neckers spot. What were you doing up there? 11 |
