Show the use of one of his legs as he ought although quite able to get about and a strong hearty lad otherwise What troubles us is to find a vocation for the boy so he can make his way in the world, and I would ask you to keep an eye on him and let us know later on, what in your judgment would be the calling most suitable for him. He has a notion he would like to be a chemist and his mother and I thought it would be well to let him go on for a while and get a good education to start in with and probably as time goes on he would then learn what would be best for him. You will have probably as good an opportunity to judge what would meet the case and we would be glad of your advice in the matter when the time comes.

Yours respectfully

W.
