Show down physically, you can imagine what a shock the sudden notification of his illness with pneumonia was to me. Having a knowledge of his condition it was impossible to shake off the most gloomy thought of coming misfortunes. During the greater part of the trip my imagination pictured all sorts of calamities. I was very grateful to a young operator at Kemmerer who was considerate enough to send me a message at Montpelier telling me he was much better. <br><br> It is impossible for me to say at present when we shall get back or what we shall do. I cannot even promise that we will return when he gets well or so near that there is no danger. His sickness will compel him to lay off and thereby stop his earning capacity, and this in edition to the doctor bill may so financial embarrass us that we will back the necessary funds for attending school.
