Show Sept. 22 ‘04 <br><br> My dear Mr. Sweazey. - <br><br> Yours of the 19th rec'd last evening and read on the way to dinner. You were good to take so much trouble for me. I didn't expect you to get any reduction but of course it is thankfully accepted. I will do as you say, and write to the Deseret News Book Co. <br><br> Our school opened Monday with 13 for Miss Brinlan and 34 for my self. Since I have added three thus. We expect more children later on. You see during the summer the people nearly all either go out to their own teachers or some one's else much to work, and then return in the winter time. My little ones so far have behaved beautifully, and I am enjoying them immensely. The only thing that worries me is to find enough work to keep them all busy at once. We have such a poor equipment. <br><br> It is laughable the quantities, offered at our shiny apples, <br> [Continues on next page.] <br><br> |
