I've been a presenter and a touring ... performer, so I see both sides. :> I don't return every phone call or answer every l~ letter I receive, but I don't see that as cause for ~a eviction from the folk community. As a presenter, f It's not fun to say no. I don't want to call long distance and get into an argument with somebody I don't know. If I've booked all the dates I have, why should I call everybody who has sent in a tape and say, "maybe next year?" Chris' letter did not mention that he had ever been a presenter; perhaps he would understand the dilemma better if he had. On another topic, here's my beef: I gave two of my CDs to somebody who said they'd be reviewed by your newsletter. Will that ever happen, and if not, why not? I enjoyed my brief visit to Salt Lake City and hope to see you all again soon. Yours, Steve Key Washington, D.C. Ed. note: Mea culpa, Steve. We 'II see to that review ASAP. 16 Intermountain Acoustic Musician, June 1993 |
