Pucci (b. 1898) was born in Italy. He came to this country in 1915 to work on the Southern Pacific railroad. He talks about section men and section houses, train accidents, Italians in Ogden, the Promontory station, the Lucin Cutoff, Italian social life, and a trip back to Italy. Interviewed by Greg Thompson and Phil Notarianni. 42 pages. |

Show -17- PUCCI you know, and then where they cross it. T: Yes, you had to keep those free of ice and snow? P: We had to keep them very _clean. T: Yes, otherwise they wouldn't work, would they? P: Otherwise, they wouldn't work, and many times there happened to be very heavy snow or something like that we had to go over night and do that. T: Oh, be out all night? P: Well, not all night but keep the place open. T: I'll bet that was cold? P: Oh, you bet. N: Were you married when you were working on the section? P: Well, no, when I was working in the section I wasn't married. N: You were single at the time, I guess not, if you ·weren't married you were single.
