Show U. of U. Chronicle Year Book_________________________________25tion and faithful practice, the Sophomores came out unscratched, and with a perfect score. We are proud to be the first possessors of the cup presented by the Class of '95. To show our appreciation of the work of our members who took part in the games, we have presented them with jerseys and the Class numerals.During-'the first part of the year, the Sophomore Engineers were a separate organization. Realizing, however, that unity brings strength the Sophomore Arts were invited to join the Class. Thus our members were increased by the addition of about twenty members, among them several girls, and with these a stronger spirit seemed to come into the Class.During the winter months, little of importance happened. Early in the spring, however, w-e became active again, beginning with our annual dance. The decoration of the hall was both unique and beautiful. The affair was an innovation to 'Varsity students. We called it a Moonlight Cotillion; it was undoubtedly the hit of the year. During several of the dances, the hall was lighted by an artificial moon, placed in one end of the hall. Needless to say all enjoyed themselves greatly. The part taken by the Sophomores in the cross-country run is well known by all, as it has been so well advertised by the Preps. We were the only college class that entered a team, and we took our defeat bravely. In the inter-class track meet this spring, we again protested against letting the Preps, enter as a body, but the other college classes would not stand by us, preferring to give the meet to the Preps. After the brilliant record we made as Freshmen, our showing this year was somewhat disappointing, but it is accounted for by the fact that most of our last year's material have won U's and so are ineligible for the Class meet. One other great event must be mentioned-the kidnaping of some of the Juniors on the night of their banquet. Though the affair was not carried so far as to cause any ill-feeling, it did much towards arousing some of the upper classmen from their slumbers. It also demonstrated that the Sophs, are thoroughly awake to everything that takes place in the school, and that they are always ready to join in a good time.One-a-zippe, Two-a-zippe, Zippe-zippe-zippe-zam; We're the Class of Naughty SevenAnd don't give a--------.Hobble-gobble, razzle-dazzle,Sis, boom, bah!
