Show 1924 UTONIAN UNIVERSITY OF UTAH MUSICAL SOCIETY Clifton A. Jacobsen, President C. A. Fjelstrom, Vice-President L. D. Sterns, Publicity Mgr. TV/TUSIC patrons of the University of Utah review with great pride and satisfaction, the accomplishment of the Musical Society for the season 1922-23. The Society exists for the purpose of consolidating into one great body all the musical organizations on the campus, and of developing among students an appreciation for good music. This year the society, with Clifton A. Jacobsen as president, has met with great success. The opera "Samson and Delilah" by Saint Saens, was the big enterprise of the year. It was put on at the Salt Lake Theatre in April, under the able direction of Prof. Thomas Giles and was awarded a flood of praise and commendation. The Men's Glee Club and the band filled a week's engagement at the Orpheum Theatre during December. This was the first time in the history of the Orpheum that a local attraction has ever been booked on the regular bill. At the close of this season it may well be said that to the long chain of successes of "U" Musical Society this year's achievements have welded on at least two mighty links.
