Show I Patents were approved for the conveyance of lots in the following towns, the number in each being indicated: TABLE24 . -Tm in which palenla for cwnneyance ojlols have been approved. Tracts for cemeteries were segregated at the following towns in the Cherokee Nation: Adair, Sallisaw, Vian, Westville. Lots which were not in the possession 'of private parties were sold *at auction in the following towns in the Cherokee Nation: Afton, Blue Jacket, Cabosa, C!!elsea, Welcb. During the year the Department approved the issuance of bonds in the following towns: Ohecotah, Creek Nation, $15,000 for schoolhouses. ' Durant, Choctaw Nation, 589,000 for waterworks, electric-light plant, and sewers. A*, Choctaw Nation, 512,000 for schoolhouses. Wilhurton, Choctaw Nation, $5,000 for schoolhouses. Chickasha, Ohickaasw Nation, $75,000 for waterworks and $15,000 for sewers. Comanche, Chickaeaw Nation, $12,500 for schoolhouses. Tiahomingo, Chickasaw Nation, S30,OOOfor waterworksand$20,000forsehoolhousea. Wynnewood, Chickssaw Nation, 815,000 for schoolhouses. September 1,1903, the town-site work ww resumed, but on account of the funds becoming exhausted it was discontinued December 1,1903. There was included in the urgent deficiency act, approved February 18, 1904 (33 Stats., 15), an item of $30,000 for continuing the town-site work, and the force was again put in the field February 23,1904. In the Indian Appropriation act, approved April 21,1904 (33 Stats., 189), there wa.9 a further item of $25,000 for town sites in Indian Territory, and the proviso "That said work shall be completed on or before July first, nineteen hundred and five."
