Show TeleI;t1one Report April 9, 1980 - Kent Powell Subject: WOOdward School and Washington Elementary School Called Jack Burr Superintendent Washington County School District and explained the committee's action in nominating the buildings - Woodward School and Washington Elementary, to the National Register. I explained that he would receive a letter from Mel as SHPO notifying of the committee action and giving thirty days to comment. I explained the nomination process and our concerns for the School Board's support of the nominations. I assured him that there were no controls over the use or additions, changes, etc. to the buildings if they are listed. He acknowledged that, but felt that with listing, "pressure" could be put on the school board to do this or that or not do this or that to the bU:~lings. I offered to meet with the School Board to explain the National Register program and he said he would let me know. In addition, the attached letter was sent as a follow up. |
