She was born in Hurricane on July 17, 1945 to Leonard E. and Yvonne Maloney Wilcox. She married James Prentiss Matthews on March 7, 1964, later divorced. She 'married Scooter Jones on Dec. 'l:1 , 1982. Fred and Thelma Gardner, Hurricane ; one daughter, Jennifer Lyn Matthews, Virgin ; one brother, and two sisters, Richard E . Wilcox, Washington; Mrs. Raymond (Lenny) Brinkerhoff, Virgin; and Mrs. Gary (Stacey) Ewell, Washington. . '. She was a member of the ' LOS (;hurch. Her early years were spent in Virgin. She has lived in Florida, New York, Arizona and Alaska. Upon her return to Utah, she spent several years in St. George. She was currently residing in Springdale. She Services' will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Virgin LOS Ward cha- _ pel. Friends may call at the chapel from 1 p.m . to time of services. Burial will be in the Virgin City Cemetery under the direction of the MetcalfCampbeII Mortuary. Elizabeth Hardy Beckstead Wanda, Jones was an antiques dealer and was well known for her knowledge and love of antiques. Survivors include: her husband; parents of Virgin ; grandparents~ ST. GEORGE - Elizabeth (Betty) Hardy Beckstead, 79, died Aug. 31, 1983 in Orange, Calif. She was born on Jan. 22, 1904 in st. George to Mattie and Bert Hardy. She married Les Beckstead in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death. Survivors include: two daughters, Carol Gullickson, and ColIeen Ryder, Orange, Calif. ; two grandchildren ; two great-grandcJ!i1dren ; three sisters, Alberta Harline, Southgate, Calif.; Louise Peterson, Midvale ; Inez Vance St. George ; one brother, Giss Hardy, St. George. Burial will be in Salt Lake City on Tuesday under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.
