Show RyanL.VanDe Graaff,M.D. Ryan and Colette enjoying a trip to Spain before the baby limited their activity. The family all together at Christmas '97. Medical school has been such a memorable experience. I specifically remember thinking on the first day of school that there was no way I would ever get to know everyone in the class. Not only do I now feel I know everyone, but I consider you all friends. My time spent with you has been the most enjoyable part of the last four years. Other experiences stand out in my mind as well, such as: setting up anatomy practicals with Ric Rasmussen and Jim Reynolds, Dr. Ash fainting at the sight of blood, Ed Peterson's test shoes, Dr. Stensaas' rubber chicken and mini-bottles, arranging third year clerkships over Christmas break with Derek Taylor, Dr. Bezzant's drug rep gifts (of which Dr. McGee surely approved), placing my first chest tube, all-nighters on Surgery and OB/Gyn, the good life as a fourth year, and finally matching at Colorado University in Otolaryngology. My best memory, however, would have to be the birth of my son Jake at the start of third year. I thoroughly enjoy being a father so much more than being a doctor. I want to thank all of you for a wonderful four years and I look forward to seeing you in the future. Ryan with his cocker, Spencer, on the way to the top of Mt. Timpanogos. 1 |
