Show RachelL. Rahlllan, M.D. /!f) 1 As I see the end of 4th year approaching and I look forward to family practice in southern Minnesota, I realize that I have many debts of gratitude: This is an oldpicture, but it's all I've got becausehe's so camera shy. Frank, I'll never be able to thank you enough for all the support you have given me. You have sacrificed a lot for our family. You postponed your schooling several times to be there for me and for our girls. I'm very glad you were able to finish your computer science degree in the face of all the responsibilities you have filled. I'm grateful to my collegues who set a good pace for our class, and especially grateful to the friends who helped me keep up with that pace with study sessions, and good notetaking. I have learned valuable lessons from friends and mentors during rotations, Family Medicine Interest Group activities, and Collegium Aesculapim conferences. Thank you, everyone. I am truly indebted to my family and friends and to those who have financed this education. I have been blessed indeed by the founders of the Exceptional Financial Need, Olga V. Alexandria, Mary Louise Motta and Paul R. Ball scholarships, as well as the many people and institutions that have provided loans for my expenses. Thanks to my mother, my mother-inlaw, and Emma Bell for helping to make sure that our girls had all the loving they needed when both Frank and I were at school. Most importantly, I credit God, for He has been the source of all of these blessings. I need to thank my girls for their good timing and wonderful personalities: Ruth--Born June 16th, 1996, before boards, and before any of my clinical rotations started. I was able to study for boards while spending lots of time with you and your sister. You have been so loveable that it has always been a joy to be at home. Rebekah--Born May 9, 1995. You came right after midterms with plenty of time to recover and study for finals before summer break. You were a very happy baby. You listened to me read my notes to you and you were quiet enough that my classmates and teachers allowed you to come to class with me for a few months. 96 |
