The Kane Springs Spanish Valley (UTM - Kane Springs section is located off U.S. 191 south of Moab and Highway coordinates 0635732E, 4251555N; SE 114 SE 114 sec. 36, T. 27 S., R. 22 E., San Juan County, Utah). The section is measured from the top of the Moab Tongue of the Entrada Sandstone to just above the base of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation noncalcareous calcareous (silica-cemented), The Entrada Sandstone is and Morrison Formation sediments typically are (calcite-cemented). Morrison Formation (part): Salt Wash Member 6. (Figure 42). Thickness (part): (m) cliff-forming unit. Gray sandstone weathers tan to reddish. Fine- to coarse-grained sandstone may be pebbly or conglomeratic. Sandstone is flat-bedded to trough cross-stratified. Rip-up clasts and pebble lags may occur on the underside of exposed bedding planes. Ledge- to Calcite cement 2.0 .
