Awkwardly at first, one fin slapping the rocks, face mask askew and her snorkel bobbing about her head like a broken antenna, Delilah stood up on the landing and looked down at the thrashing water. She continued staring until the persistent voice behind her made her turn and look into the face that hung on her aunt's living-room wall. "Hello," said Delilah. "Hello," Tito replied, "are you injured?" "No, I'm fine," she said as rivlets of water ran from her hair, beaded on her shoulders and collected at her feet, "I just lost my fin," she lifted a bare foot for emphasis. "So I'm told. It has caused a riot I think." He gestured to the water which was calming as those nearest recognized the man on the landing. The news spread in seconds through the water and up onto the sand. The voices of the women on the beach rose to a new pitch. Tito stepped to the landing's edge, raised his hands and clapped them twice. There was silence. "Has anyone found the missing swimming fin?" his voice boomed but no one answered and he turned again to Delilah. "It appears not. Where do you think you lost it?" Delilah looked out at the witer. "I'm not sure now but over there I think." She pointed in the midst of the highest concentration of swimmers which started a new flurry of diving. "Shall we look for it together?
