Show 10 "Oh!" she yelled, "Go away! Delilah put your robe on." Delilah roller! over and stared at the men. "I'm going swimming," she told her aunt curtly and taking her dark glasses off, grabbed her snorkeling gear and stood up. The wall of men parted for her and as she walked toward the water every male under forty followed. At the shore she slipped into her gear and into the water, submerging quickly until only the snorkel tip showed and the Adriatic magnified her body a foot below the surface. When she was fifty feet out young men began diving into the water like penguins from an iceberg. Two hundred feet out and she felt like a deer among piranha. A young man about eighteen issued from a group, swam up to Delilah and while both treaded water eyeing each other reached out and pinched her accurately on the breast. A howl of laughter went up from his friends. Delilah gave a ferocious kick with her flippers, rose out of the water waist high, swung and landed a cracking blow to the face, bloodying his nose. He retreated to an even louder chorus of jeers. "Damn it," yelled Delilah. She pulled her mask down, tucked under and dove straight down but soon came up gasping. "You made me lose my fin you creep!" She had kicked so hard before loosing her attack that she had kicked one fin free. Suddenly the men arround her were diving too. Those with snorkeling gear on the beach raced back to it, grabbed it or someone elses.and dove back into the sea. A general din of shouts, false sightings, arguments.- over location, and laughter at jokes concerning the reward offered for the lost article ensued. Those who were not |
