The "chain,"or laced, lines of the Ompei moul are seven-cighths of an inch apart, which is rather wide spacmg foramoul from Korea. The "laid" bamboo cover is bound on the four sides wit coarsly-swoven fabri. This cloth not only protects the edges, hm at eac end, parallel with the laid bamboos, it is sewed around bars of bambo which act as boundaries, or "deckles." The "deckles" along the wide sid of the mould are formed by loose rounded pine sticks which the worker hold in place.
