A brief though revealing, notice s found in the same fssue of the Providenc newspaper fnwhich appeared Waterman'sobituary. This ffve-line fte states that the mill had been closed "for some time past," due no doub the Providence newspaper was forced toappear ina small size, Anothe paragraphn"The Providence Gazette" for the following week (February 15,1777) observed that the supply of paper from the local mill wa A plea for rags, in "The Providence Gazette," February 15, 1777 exhausted and that the printer of the weekly newspaper, John Carter ‘was making an effort to procure printing paper from Milton, Massa chusetts.
