Show THE CHURCH REVIEW.

SECOND M. E. CHURCH.
The regular monthly business meeting of the Ladies' Aid, will meet at Mrs. Raybould's, corner of Fourth East and York street, Thursday, April 4th. It is important that all the ladies be present. The Bazaar work will be completed this week. The committees will be busy putting everything in readiness for the same.
Everybody is expecting a grand time at the Bazaar Thursday, April 11th. Now is the time to purchase your tickets, ten for one dollar. Buy a dollar's worth and help out the ladies. You don't know when you will have another opportunity to help the church.
Eighty-six seats have been taken. They cost us ten dollars more than we expected. Subscriptions to this fund will still be received.
We are still hoping to be able to dedicate without making an appeal for money, but the finishing up has taken and is taking more means than we anticipated.
Seven persons raised their hand for prayers at the Infirmary last Sunday and there are some hopeful conversions there. Services every Sunday at 3 p. m. The Superintendent says since our meetings began, there is a very different spirit in the Home and they have been a very great assistance to him in the management. The effects have been so beneficial he hopes the services will continue. Mrs. G. C. Betz will lead today.
Three new seekers were at the altar Sunday night. There are many more who should seek the Lord before they sink into hopeless indifference. They may feel more comfortable as conviction weakens, but that is a thing which should give alarm. To become comfortable after conviction is a paralysis preceding death. Trifle not with the Holy Spirit.
Ladies prayer meeting, Friday at Mrs. Allison's, 3 p. m. Ellis Jayne will preach at Murray tonight.

"The best advertisement for a revival is the revival itself."
"God never says, 'Come up higher' to any except the faithful."
"Controversy in religious matters pays no spiritual dividends."
"The man gains nothing who loses his character and saves his money."
"The devil may feel proud of his work when he looks at [a] drunkard's home."
"Saying no to the devil is saying yes to Christ."
"One reason why Christ ate with publicans and sinners was that they made him welcome."
"The journey to the cross is short when we are willing to go to it with bleeding feet."
"The devil can behave himself as well as an angel when he has to do it to gain his point."
"Between two evils some folks choose both."
"A good man's prayer shakes the throne of Satan."
"God's army never lost a battle because it wasn't big enough."
"When the saloon goes the devil will be about ready to quit."
"God made the heart of man so big that this world can't fill it."
"The man who stands on truth has God's hand under him."

A word of caution to buyers should be offered in buying a bicycle, as in buying a piano or anything else requiring supreme skill to produce the highest and most enduring results. Remember that the influence of the mass of makers and agents is exerted against the leading article of its kind, and that inducements other than the intrinsic merits of the goods themselves are freely used to force the rule of a cheaper line.
