Show THE CHURCH REVIEW.

Christian Endeavor Dep't.
EDITED BY CHAS. T. HAWKES.
[Contributions to this department will be welcomed at any time, and should be sent to the above, care Geo. M. Scott & Co., before Tuesday morning of each week.]

CONVENTION DATE CHANGED
Opening Session Wednesday evening, April 3rd.
The public schools celebrate Arbor Day on Wednesday and on this account it has been thought best to put the Ogden convention forward one day. It is hoped this will ensure a much larger attendance from Salt Lake. The special train leaves the Rio Grande depot at 5:50 p. m., Wednesday, April 3rd. A reception and supper is tendered by the Ogden Endeavorers at Gordon Academy immediately on arrival.
The opening session begins at 7:30 and the sessions that were planned for Wednesday are transferred, to take place in the same order, on Thursday. The special train leaves for Salt Lake as soon after the close of the Thursday evening session as we can get to the depot. The fare for the round trip is $1.50 for Salt Laker's on the express condition that they go and return on the special train. All others should purchase regular tickets to Ogden and take a receipt for the money paid. This receipt when countersigned by Secretary Tolles, at the convention, will enable the holder to procure a return ticket for one fifth fare. Anyone who wishes can go one way on the special train, but not at the special rate. Send the names of your delegates to Rev. C. F. Richardson at once. All aboard for Ogden. April 3rd and 4th.

Prayer Meeting Topic For Today.
"Christ's Yoke." Matt. 11: 28-30; John 14: 14-15.
A yoke implies service and to be yoked together with Christ bespeaks a constant nearness to his side. Thus the yoke becomes very light indeed, for the service is a most joyful one. If we share his privations, his rebuffs and his sorrows we have the unspeakable privilege of being his comrades, and shall as surely have part and lot in his triumphs and the joys. "For if we suffer with him we shall also reign with him." On the other hand Satan's yoke becomes heavier with each succeeding sinful act, until at last like a great mill stone securely fastened about the neck it drags one down to the depths of perdition.

Junior Topic.
"When is it hard to do good and how can we make it easy?" Matt, 11: 28-30.
If we would overcome the evil one it is always necessary to take Christ with us. When we are tempted to do a wrong act or restrained from doing the right, he will fight our battles for us if we will only let him.
D. L. Moody would reverse the common expression "do good and be good," to "be good and do good." We must first be prepared by a work of grace in our own hearts before we can successfully imitate the Savior in doing good.
It would be well to treat this subject in a practical way if we would help the Juniors out of some of their manifold difficulties. Hindrances, whether actual or imaginary, seem very real to boys and girls.
Read the special convention notice and tell all your friends about it.

On the eve of the Convention.
Let all the Endeavorers of the city and especially all who anticipate attending; the Christian Endeavor Convention at Ogden. April 3rd and 4th, feel a personal responsibility for the interest and enthusiasm of the Union C. E. prayer meeting the First Presbyterian church at 7:30 Monday evening, April 1st. Mr. Lindberry, of the First Baptist C. E., will conduct the prayer and song service.
We hope to have with us Mr. C. F. Richardson, president of the Ogden Local Union, to put the finishing touches to our enthusiasm for the convention. He will make you want to go if you aren't already looking forward to it. Bring your No. 6 Hymn book. Come promptly. Come to sing. Come to pray. Come to get a foretaste of the convention.

Secretary's Second.
Ogden, April 3rd and 4th. Only a few days left and I have only a few seconds to leave with you some thoughts concerning the convention that should be second to nothing.
Are you going? Well I knew you would for if you didn't you would be the only one left "at home."
Now that you are really going, let's see what we can do to get the most out of our members convention.
Be an eye and ear witness. Keep them both open and also your mouth when opportunity is offered. Don't say a word about the convention unless it is something good. Don't look for discord for it will only be time lost.
Oh, yes! take your note book, you'll need it. Your society is going to have an "Echo meeting" for the benefit of the old people that are too feeble to go. Insist upon having it while convention enthusiasm is red hot.
See to it that that member for whom you have been praying so long attends every session. Stay with him. Urge him to make a final settlement of the matter once for all at the consecration meeting.
Remember the union prayer meeting tomorrow evening. In short make the very best of it. Yours Conventionally, HARRY TOLLES. Secty. Utah C. E. Union.

Salt Lake Remembered.
Among the special objects designated by the various missionary boards for Endeavorer Day offerings were the following, as they appeared in the Golden Rule.
The Christian Endeavor memorial church in Salt Lake City, Utah has been built and paid for, with the exception of several hundred dollars. The societies of the Disciples of Christ are asked to remove this debt by their Endeavor Day offerings to the home missionary fund.
The Congregational Church Building Society asks for a share of the Endeavor Day gifts of the young people of the denomination, and designates the Plymouth church, Salt Lake City, as the special object for such contributions.

"An English speaker before a Christian Endeavor convention said that three words are suggestive of a Christian Endeavorer's experience as he looks backward: Reap, Rest, Rejoice; and three words expressive of an Endeavorer's duty as he looks forward: Live, Love and Labor."
The Salt Lake College society was formally admitted to the City Union at the executive committee meeting last Tuesday evening.
Are you aware of the change in the convention dates? Don't fail to read the special notice at the head of this page.
Who will get that banner? Several Salt Lake societies are determined to secure it.

|
