H.ogPrs pleaded guilty in bqth cases An iuqniry was had which showed that Rogers had q been to a dance nearly nll night and~ went to sleep in an outhou~e, the door of which was opened on him by Christine. She afterwards made some remark about his being asleep there, which Rogers did not like, and he took the young lady, without considering her age or sex, and administered punishment with his open band in the same manner m which an ' infuriated mamma chastiseth her 5-year-old boy. The girl's .father afterwards· asked defendant why be struck his daughter and Rogers commenced on him, but came out s~cond best, discovering in a verv short time that be could not take the.tatber a~ross his knee. Rogers was fined $20 for the first offense and $16.50 for the second, all of which he paid for his little matinee. |
