Show PAGE 2-WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGER, NOV. 13, 1970 CORRECT VERSION - Last week the "Missile Ranger "published a picture of the Missile Range color guard parading in Green River, Utah, during the town's annual Melon Festival. The picture showed a number of spectators in the background sitting on the hood of a car and leaning against the fender as the colors passed. Following publication the Information Office received a number of calls, including one from the Commanding General, pointing out that the spectators were not showing proper respect for the colors. Here the same color guard passes Post Headquarters with military and civilian employes in the background showing proper respect. Military personnel in uniform face the colors and render the -hand salute. Civilians face the colors and place their right hand over their heart. Men wearing headdress hold it at the left shoulder with right hand over the heart. Female personnel in civilian attire need not remove headdress. (U.S. Army Photo) |
