Show DECEMBER 5.-On this Friday evening, the Freshman football enthusiasts fell to work on a really genuine banquet-quite an affair in the lives of Freshmen!DECEMBER 12.-A crowded assembly greeted the thoroughly-composed and complacent smile of Mr. Willard Mack and his charming wife. The actor'senthusiasm for stage life was reflected from the student body through the medium of Mr. Roscoe Ashworth.DECEMBER 12-13.-Mrs. Bumpstead-Leigh, in company with her mother, sister, and "bosom friends," exhibited her true character before a large and thoroughly appreciative audience of admiring students. The old Garrick was garnished with crimson and white, the U. orchestra sounded forth its patriotic airs, in the midst of which atmosphere the dramatic cast exhibited the best dramatic talent seen in years.DECEMBER 19.-Honor day was observed in a fitting manner, the block "U" being awarded to all of the men who had upheld the honor of Utah during the 1913 year of baseball, track, basketball, and football.JANUARY 8.-A bright blue '15 smiled the Juniors' New Year's greeting to all, from its lofty place on the new cement smokestack, after the holidays. Only a carefully planned campaign could have accomplished this clever piece of work, and such it was, since no traces were left to convict the doers.JANUARY 9.-Cheerful in spite of great misfortune, Mr. N. C. Hanks was an inspiring example of optimism in his talk to the student body. By perseverance he has become a successful lecturer, and though bereft of both sight and hands, still laughs at fate.JANUARY 13-15.-The Elocution Seven Class appeared before the public in their second series of readings. The excellent rendering displayed careful preparation and the wide variety of subjects made them very popular.JANUARY 12.-The Sophomores offered no resistance to the fearless Freshies, as they marched in all their glory to the steps of the Administration Building-previously unstained by any Freshman foot-and there posed peacefully for their picture. |
