Show 11Engineering SocietyV I IIS true, in the eyes of some, the engineer is a I rough individual who has no culture, eats with X his knife, uses bad language and chews tobacco. Those who hold this view are looking at his faults only. Everyone must admit that the engineer is a good mixer and a live fellow. The profession needs live fellows; no dead man will ever make an engineer. Nor will every live one, but there are at least hopes for live ones. These hopes led to the organization of the Engineering Society in 1900 and have kept it in existence up to the present time. The purpose of the Engineering Society, as shown by the preamble to its constitution, is to promote interest in engineering subjects among the engineering students and to create a spirit of good fellowship among its members. A number of lectures by practicing engineers of great renown have been enjoyed by the society during the year 1913-14.- AN ENGINEER.OFFICERSRobert Flagel...........PresidentWilliam Argyle .......Vice PresidentClyde Williams ........SecretaryClarence Burton.........TreasurerEXECUTIVE BOARDRobert Ferron, '14 Carl Nyman, '15Horace Hudson, '16 Paul Rose, '17Membership, 10031 ICBC120 |
