It is based on the provisions of S. 75 (Central Arizona Project Bill) and the following specified conditions: construc- tion cost estimate of $708,780,000 made by the Bureau of Reclamation (Senate Report No. 832, 81st Congress, 1st Session); an interest rate of 2 xh %; an eight-year construction period; and a 75-year financing period. The Secretary's statement appears in his letter dated June 28, 1950, to J. Hardin Peterson, Chairman of the House Public Lands Committee. The statement was approved by the Bureau of the Budget. |
