Show Construction of Ruedi Dam and Reservoir on the Fryingpan River near Basalt, Colorado continued with 49 percent of the work completed by September 30, 1966. Construction was in progress during the year on the Divide, South Fork, and Chapman Tunnels, with the contractor completing 32 percent of the work. Designs are underway for relocating the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad around Pueblo Dam and Reservoir. Work is continuing on refinement of hydrologic studies and on preconstruction surveys for the East Slope Power System and Municipal Water System. 2. COLORADO AND WYOMING a. Savery-Pot Hook Project Construction of the Savery-Pot Hook Project as a participating project was authorized by Congress in September 1964. The project is located in Moffat County, Colorado, and Carbon County, Wyoming. Principal project features consist of two storage reservoirs - the Savery Reservoir and the Pot Hook Resevoir - and a system of canals to provide a full supply of project water to 15,740 acres of land in Colorado and 6,180 acres in Wyoming, and a supplemental water supply to 3,370 acres of inadequately irrigated land in Colorado and 9,975 acres in Wyoming. Advance Planning Advance planning studies consisting mainly of land classification and drainage field work were initiated in fiscal year 1966. Land classification and drainage work will continue throughout fiscal year 1967. Aerial photography of the project area and some additional foundation drilling at Savery damsite have been completed. A definite plan report is scheduled for completion in fiscal year 1969. 3. NEW MEXICO a. Hammond Project The Hammond Project, located in northwestern New Mexico, is a completed project. Operated and maintained by the Bureau of Reclamation through the 1965 irrigation season, the project supplied water to project lands on a rental basis. The project works consist of the Hammond Diversion Dam on the San Juan River, the main gravity canal, a hydraulic turbine-driven pumping plant, three main laterals, and distribution laterals. Drainage facilities are being constructed as the need develops. After project canals were placed in operation, several reaches of canal subsided and structures settled out of line.
