Show the Colorado River Storage Project, and provides for quality-of-water studies. The total fiscal year 1967 program of $6,430,800 will be funded with $31,500 advanced by the water users and $6,399,300 by revenues received from the sale of electrical energy and water. The Upper Colorado River Commission on March 9, 1966 submitted testimony to the Subcommittee on the Department of the Interior and Related Agencies of the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives in support of construction funds for the Navajo Indian Irrigation Project. Witnesses representing the Upper Colorado River Commission and various entities in the States of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming on May 2 and 3, 1966 presented testimony to the Public Works Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee and the Subcommittee on Bureau of Reclamation and Power Marketing Agencies of the Senate Appropriations Committee. The Commission supported the President's Budget and, in addition, recommended that Congress appropriate $7,500,000 for continuing the construction of the Bonneville Unit of the Central Utah Project. On September 15, 1966 the House Committee on Appropriations reported its Public Works Appropriation Bill for Fiscal 1967, H. R. 17787, House Report No. 2044. The House Committee recommended $5,898,000 more in new money than the President's budget bringing the appropriation for the Bonneville Unit of the Central Utah Project to $7,500,000 and including $148,000 for the Page, Arizona accommodation school. On September 21, 1966 the House by a vote of 354 to 25 passed H. R. 17787, as amended. The House included $7,500,000 for construction of the Bonneville Unit of the Central Utah Project, At the end of the 1966 water year, September 30, 1966, the Public Works Appropriation Bill for fiscal 1967 was pending before the Senate Committee on Appropriations. Because information was available when this report was compiled, it has been included herein. On October 3, 1966 the Senate Committee on Appropriations reported H. R. 17787, Senate Report No. 1672. The Senate Committee recommended an appropriation of $50,198,000 for the Colorado River Storage Project or $1,250,000 more than the House allowance and $7,148,000 more than the President's budget estimate (excluding the $6,498,000 for the Navajo Indian Irrigation Project previously appropriated in another Act).
