As stated above, the purpose of bringing this subject area into the Irrigation District and to further make it subject to taxes for the financing of the improvements is to utilize this water right for said 16,000 acres, (d) Tracings (One original and one duplicate) of the project area under said Regulations are submitted with this application, marked "Exhibit H". In order to show the relationship of the project area to the main part of the District, prints of the District Map for the whole area are attached hereto, and marked "Exhibit I". It is respectfully suggested that the public lands which are now situated within the boundaries of the Palo Verde Irrigation District should be made subject to the provisions of the Smith Act in order that the entrymen may participate in the financing of a water distribution system, and thereby obtain patents to their lands. It is suggested that it will be for the best interests of the Government, the desert land entrymen and the Palo Verde Irrigation District to have this application favorably considered by the Honorable Secretary of the Interior.
