Three practice meets with Weber college, Westminsiter college, and Deseret Gym veterans proved easy pre-season victories. The opening competitive meet against Brigham Young on January 30 was won, 19-18, as Schleckman, Hunt, Bering, Welti, and Banks triumphed over their Provo opponents. Victory over U. A. C. on February 10 gave the Utes their state championship. English, Wilkes, Bering, Banks, Hunt, and Schleckman amassed the winning margin of victory, I8V2-IIV2. In the season's climax, Utah gained their western championship with a total of 38 points to 25 for A. C. and 23 for B. Y. U. as Hunt, Schleckman, Bering, and Banks remained undefeated in college competition.
