As a long recognized need in aiding students make proper adjustments in proper courses of study, the Lower Division was created in 1933. Discerning faculty members, headed by Leroy Cowles as Dean of the school, seek to eliminate maladjustments confronting students new to college life. Outgrowth of Director Cowles' leadership has been the freshman orientation course which offers first year students advice and information as to proper college procedure. 7k eton GENERAL MANAGER . Alumnus Theron S. Parmelee for four years has served as sagacious general manager of all student activities. Under his exacting supervision, the 1935-36 record of publications, debate, dramatics, music, and student administration has been a distinct success. Ably abetted by assistant Monroe Wissmar, Parmelee has gained widespread recognition as well as enjoying both student and alumni approbation. Both are the result of his proven ability. enjoys student and alumni approbation.' 28
